Volunteer in the DPRC

Why volunteer?

  • Gain hands-on research experience in multi-method child developmental research

  • Mentorship by lab director and other members of the research team

  • Develop research and professional skills

Apply to volunteer

  • Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Applications will be kept on file for 12 months - highly qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available

  • Time commitment: ~8 hours per week

STUDENTS

Honours Students

Dr. Khoury supervises Undergraduate Honours Thesis students in the Department of Psychology at MSVU and the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University.

Prospective students are encouraged to review relevant information about the MSVU honours program or the Dalhousie honours program. Prospective students should be keen on child development research. Email Dr. Khoury (Jennifer.khoury@msvu.ca) for more information.

Graduate Students

Dr. Khoury is open to co-supervising graduate students (Masters or PhD) in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University.  Interested prospective students are encouraged to review program requirements.

Dr. Khoury also supervises current graduate students on their comprehensive projects. Prospective students should ensure their research interests align with the ongoing research projects in the DPRC.


STUDY PARTICIPANTS

The Impact of Early Life Experiences on Prenatal and Postpartum Health

If you are pregnant, you may be eligible to participate in a research study assessing the impact of early life experiences on pregnancy and postpartum health at the Developmental Psychobiology Research Centre at Mount Saint Vincent University. You will receive $20-40 for your participation in each session (up to $80 total).

Family Dynamics and Child Emotional Development

If you are a family of two caregivers with a child between 4 and 6 years old, you may be eligible to participate in a research study exploring child emotion regulation and social-emotional development. This study takes place over 2 sessions in the Developmental Psychobiology Research Centre at MSVU.

You will receive $50 for each session you complete (up to $100 total).
